Your love has grown. Your diamond can too. Trade in the natural diamond you bought from Corinne and put every dollar back toward something more beautiful.
"A diamond is forever," the famous slogan goes. And the sentiment is. But sometimes life moves, tastes evolve, milestones come around, and the diamond that was perfect at one engagement starts to feel like the next chapter has arrived. That's what the Corinne Diamond Trade-Up Program is for. Bring us the natural diamond you purchased here — whether it's been five years or twenty-five — and we'll put every dollar you paid for it back toward the new stone you've been imagining.
"As your love grows over the years, shouldn't your diamond grow with it?"
How the Corinne Trade-Up Program works
Simple, generous, and built around the one promise that matters: the dollars you spent on your original diamond don't disappear — they carry forward into something more beautiful.
You bring us back the diamond you bought here
Any natural diamond originally purchased at Corinne Jewelers is eligible — whether it's set in your engagement ring, your studs, or it's loose. If you have the original receipt, perfect; if not, we can almost always pull the record from our archives. We've been at 917 North Main Street since 1964, and we've kept the books.
We credit you the full original price
One hundred percent of what you paid us for that diamond — not a depreciated trade-in value, not a partial credit. The full original purchase price applied directly toward the new stone. This is what makes the program different from the trade-in offers at most stores: we don't reset the clock.
You choose a stone at least twice the value
The Trade-Up Program is designed for a true step up. The new diamond needs to be at least double the value of the one you're trading in. It's a generous threshold — and it's the reason we can keep the program as generous as we do. Go from one carat to two. From two to three. From round to oval. From classic solitaire to a designer halo. The point is forward.
You take home the new piece. We keep the old one.
Simple as that. The original diamond comes back to us, and the new diamond — set in whatever you've chosen — goes home with you. Whether that's another anniversary ring, a pair of larger studs, or a stunning new setting we designed for you, you walk out with something you'll love wearing for the next chapter.
Thinking about an upgrade?
Bring in your original Corinne diamond and let's talk through what's possible. No pressure, no commitment — just a conversation about where you want to take the next chapter.
Built for the milestone moments
Most of our trade-up customers come in for the same reason: a milestone has arrived and the diamond they've been wearing for a decade or two suddenly feels ready for a refresh. Some of the moments we see most often:
- The 10th, 15th, 20th, or 25th wedding anniversary — the upgrade is the gift
- An engagement ring that's outgrown its setting — a bigger stone in a fresh design
- Diamond studs that started at a half-carat — and the wearer's ready for a real statement
- A new shape or cut — round to oval, princess to emerald, classic to something with more presence
- A redesign in the works — the trade-up makes a custom upgrade more affordable than starting from scratch
Eligibility & the fine print, in plain English
We try to keep the program honest and transparent. Here's the whole picture so nothing is a surprise when you walk in:
- Natural diamonds only. The Trade-Up Program applies to natural diamonds you bought at Corinne. Lab-grown diamonds — even Corinne-purchased — are not eligible for the program. (We can still talk about other options if you've got a lab-grown piece you want to part with.)
- Originally purchased at Corinne Jewelers. Diamonds bought elsewhere don't qualify for the program — but if you bought it from us, we'll honor it for the life of the stone.
- Proof of purchase. Original receipt is great. If you don't have it, we can usually verify from our records — we've kept them for sixty-two years.
- At least 2× the original value. The replacement diamond needs to be priced at a minimum of double the original purchase price. This is the structural rule that keeps the program generous: by trading up to a meaningfully larger piece, you're getting full credit forward, not a partial reset.
- Center stones and stud earrings. The program applies to the center diamond in your ring, or to your natural diamond stud earrings. Settings, side stones, and melee don't carry trade-up value.
"Every piece has a story. The next chapter starts when you're ready."
What you can trade up into
Trade-up credit applies to whatever the next piece is going to be — there's no required category. A few of the most common directions:
- A larger center stone in your existing engagement ring setting
- An entirely new engagement ring — designer or custom — built around the upgrade stone
- An anniversary ring with a more substantial center
- Diamond stud earrings — full carat, two carat, three carat or more
- A custom-designed piece — pair the trade-up with our custom design team to build something from scratch
- A right-hand ring or pendant — sometimes the upgrade isn't the original ring at all
What makes the Corinne program different
Most jewelers offer "trade-in" programs that work more like a depreciation schedule than an upgrade path. We don't. The Corinne Diamond Trade-Up is built on a single principle: the dollars you spent here stay yours. Some specifics:
- Full original purchase price as credit — not a percentage, not a wholesale resale value
- No time limit on the diamond's eligibility — five years, fifteen years, fifty years, the program is lifetime
- Records we keep ourselves — three generations at the same address means we can usually find your original purchase even if your paperwork is lost
- Honest threshold — the 2× rule is what lets us keep the program this generous; we'd rather be transparent about it than have a hidden gotcha
- 1,367+ five-star Google reviews — including from many of the families who've upgraded with us across multiple anniversaries
How the trade-up timing actually works
Most trade-ups happen as a single visit: you bring the original piece in, we examine and verify it, you look at upgrade options in the case, and you choose. If you already know what you want, the whole thing can be done in a single afternoon. If you're thinking about a custom build around the upgrade stone, plan on 4 to 8 weeks for the new piece — the same timeline as any of our custom design work — with the trade-up credit applied up front.
If you'd rather just talk through options before committing, we welcome that too. Make an appointment, bring the piece in, and we'll lay out the picture honestly — what the original is worth in the program, what's in the case, what a custom build might look like. No deposit required to have the conversation.

Frequently asked questions
Do I have to have the original receipt to trade up?
The original receipt makes it the smoothest, but it's not strictly required. We've kept our sales records going back decades — bring in the piece, your name, and an approximate year of purchase, and we can almost always find it in our system. Three generations at the same address means we tend to remember our customers.
How much credit do I get for my original diamond?
One hundred percent of the original purchase price, applied directly toward the new stone. Not a depreciated value, not a percentage — the full amount you spent on that diamond at Corinne is the credit you bring into the new purchase.
Why does the new diamond have to be at least 2× the original price?
Honest answer: it's the structural rule that lets us keep the program this generous. By trading up to a meaningfully larger piece, the program stays sustainable for us and exceptional for you. If you're trading up to something only slightly more expensive, the math stops working — and we'd rather have a generous program with a clear threshold than a watered-down one with no rules.
Can I trade up a lab-grown diamond?
The formal Trade-Up Program applies to natural diamonds only. That said, if you have a lab-grown piece you're looking to move on from, come talk to us. We can usually find a path that works for you, even if it's outside the formal program.
What if my diamond is damaged or chipped?
It depends on the damage. Light wear is normal and doesn't disqualify a stone. Significant chipping or a fractured stone is a different conversation — bring it in and we'll examine it together. In some cases there's still program value; in others we can find an alternative path.
Can I trade up to a different shape?
Absolutely — and this is one of the most common reasons people use the program. Round to oval, princess to emerald, classic solitaire to a designer halo. Whatever direction your taste has moved, we can build the upgrade around the new shape.
Does the program apply to my diamond stud earrings?
Yes. Natural diamond stud earrings purchased at Corinne are fully eligible for the Trade-Up Program. Same rules: 100% original price credited toward a new pair, new pair has to be at least 2× the value. This is one of the most popular ways customers use the program.
How long does the trade-up process take?
If you choose something from our case, you can walk out with the upgrade the same day (or within a few days of a sizing, if it's a ring). If you're pairing the trade-up with a custom design, plan on 4 to 8 weeks for the new piece to be built — the trade-up credit gets applied up front so the build is funded from day one.
What happens to the diamond I trade in?
The original diamond comes back into our hands — typically to be reset into another piece for a future customer, or held in our inventory of loose stones. It doesn't get destroyed or sent off-site. Three generations of jewelers at this address means every stone gets a second chapter somewhere.
Can I finance the difference?
Yes. We offer financing through Wells Fargo with several plan options. After your trade-up credit is applied, any remaining balance can be financed if you'd like.
